Sigma Beta Club

The Sigma Beta Club is the official youth auxiliary of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., created to mentor and guide young men toward leadership, academic success, and responsible citizenship. The program was founded in 1950 by Dr. Parlett L. Moore, the 16th International President of Phi Beta Sigma. Recognizing the need for positive role models and structured support for boys and young men, Dr. Moore envisioned the club as a space where members of Phi Beta Sigma could extend their motto of Culture for Service and Service for Humanity to the next generation.

Since its founding, the Sigma Beta Club has provided mentorship, educational enrichment, cultural awareness, and service opportunities to young men across the United States and abroad. Club members, usually between the ages of 8 and 18, are exposed to academic tutoring, leadership development, career preparation, and community service projects. Many have gone on to become leaders in their schools, communities, and professions.

Today, the Sigma Beta Club continues to be a vital part of Beta Chi Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma’s mission, helping to cultivate the “next generation of Sigma men” throughout the  Richland School District One (RSD1) while instilling values of discipline, achievement, and service.
